I'm ashley!

I'm a newborn and family photographer based in Tacoma, WA. I love working with new and growing laid-back families who are comfortable with the imperfect and love doing life with their people.

My goal is for your Tacoma newborn photo session is for it to be the least stressful thing you do that day. I like to keep things simple, light, have fun, and show you what love and joy there is for your new baby with the images we create together. Here are the 3 biggest keys to relaxed newborn photos:

For the most relaxed newborn photos, wear clothes you are comfortable in.

You can look put together for pictures and still be comfy in what you’re wearing. In fact, the more comfortable you are in your clothes, the easier it will be for you to relax and be yourself during your session.

Let the baby eat right before your session.

They are in charge of how the session goes, but doing your best to make sure they have a full belly for photos will increase the chances of them going with the flow (same goes for the rest of the family – avoid being hangry! haha)

What if they don’t eat right before our session time? That’s okay. When I schedule a newborn session, I have no other commitments to rush to; I am there as long as needed to document your family!

And last but not least…

Finally, to have the most relaxed newborn photos, you just need to relax!

No, really – it will be fine!

Baby needs to eat again? Of course that’s okay.
Toddler doesn’t want to be in 90% of the pictures? Let them be. They’ll join us for a few, and I promise to make the most of it when they do.
Feel like your house is a mess? It’s all good. We aren’t showcasing your home! I am more than happy to help move things around that we don’t want in the space we are taking photos in – and we truly don’t need a lot of space to get beautiful pictures.

Let’s recap:

Food.
Comfy clothes.
Sit back and let me guide you through your session.

Simple! 🙂

Don’t let getting photos taken stress you out.
